The gospel tells us that God is a good, righteous creator and the ruler over all.
It tells us that we are sinners in desperate need who have offended God's justice.
We don't have to be left in that desperate state, though.
God, of his own mercy, has provided a way to be reconciled to himself.
That way is named Jesus.
And, if we respond by putting all our hope and trust in his finished work on the cross, we can have life eternal with God.
